Tullamore Harriers Report 5th February 2018
National Senior T&F
Congratulations to Georgina Touhey who won the Senior Ladies 3000m Walk in the National Senior Indoor Track and Field Championships last weekend in a time of 16.02.37. This was a great result for Georgina who has been training very hard after an absence due to injury.
Mark Milner ran 1.53.47 in his 800m race finishing 5th while Aaron Mangan ran 1.57.85 in his heat of the same race.
Trim 10 Mile
Almost 1500 athletes took part in last Sunday’s Trim 10 Mile road race and Harriers were well represented with a crew led by Pauric Ennis who finished 6th overall in 55.30. Dave Murray had a great run to finish 8th in a pb of 56.25. Basil Cronin was next home for Harriers running 65.27 which was also a pb. Fionnan Minnock ran 69.00; John O’Connell ran 71.00; Lavinia Leahy ran 78.41 (also a pb) and Sandra Busteed came home in 1.40.50. Well done all.
Kinnity Knight 10k
Quite a few braved the darkness and cold to take part in the Kinnity Knight 10k adventure race last Friday night. Well done to all those who took to the hills around Kinnity to test themselves against the terrain. Congratulations to Rita Daly who was the second lady to finish.

Jim Langan ran 27.06 at the Gneeveguila 5k at Killarney National Park last Saturday finishing first in his age group (o75) as he continues his long-term participation in the Gneeveguila AC 5k Spring Series.
Mount Lucas Half Marathon
Sinead Rigney ran a fantastic half marathon in Mount Lucas last Saturday, winning the race there in 1.32.14, her fastest to date. Brigid Fox was second in 1.43.24; Rodge Larkin ran 2.00.27 and Paddy Rowland clocked 2.09.24.
Ballyfin GAA 6k
The Harriers ladies did very well at the Ballyfin 6k last Sunday – Pauline Curley was the first lady home, Sinead Rigney was the 4th and Dearbhaile Cuddy was the first Junior. Well done girls!

Access to Harriers Facilities
Please note that use of the club’s facilities, including the tarmac track, is restricted to members of the club. Walkers are not permitted on the track during training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30pm-8pm.
