Tullamore Harriers Club Notes 13th July 2020

We are back!
Finally after long obligatory break from club training it is wonderful to see the activity in Tullamore Harriers AC once again. Group training for senior and juveniles athletes has been re introduced in a phased manner over the past few weeks – all in accordance with Athletic Ireland and Government Guidelines. Coaches and club officers have established a safe and secure environment for our athletes to meet and train. All members who have and will be attending have been informed of the regulations and in the interest of everyone concerned, must at all times comply. Welcome back to everyone. Stay safe and have fun.

Mondello 10k
Well done to Nick McGowan and Pauric Ennis who raced the Mondello 10k on Thursday last. Pauric was 9th finisher in 33.49 and Nick posted 39.16. Great running guys.

Gowran 8 Mile Club Race
The ever popular Gowran 8 has been rescheduled to Tuesday August 4th at 6.30pm. This will be the 40th anniversary of the event and is dedicated to our dear friend and founding member Mr Noel Gowran RIP. Noel was the winner of the National Marathon in 1958 in a record time of 2.29.53. He was the first Irish man under 2.30. This will be the first club race since the Covid-19 restrictions and we look forward to seeing all our members back in action again. (Further details nearer the time and subject to national health and government guidelines)
