Tullamore Harriers Report 02nd September 2019

Tullamore Harriers Quinlan Cup Half Marathon 2019/Phyllis Delaney Cup

The Tullamore Harriers Quinlan Cup Half Marathon 2019 is done and dusted and what a day it was – almost 1000 athletes from the length and breadth of the country gathered in Tullamore on Saturday 31th of August to compete in what is now classed as one of the best road races in Ireland.  Relay entries, walkers and wheel chair athlete Mark Nugent also took part in the event. Without the help of our sponsors Tullamore Harriers would not be in a position to host such an event. Local and national sponsors contributed hugely and the club and members are truly appreciative. The sponsors who supported the Tullamore Harriers Half Marathon are: Condron Concrete Works, Imagine Ireland, Tullamore Hardware, Capital Securities, Tullamore Court Hotel, Heatwise, Offaly County Council, Applegreen, Maunsell’s Gala, Willie O’Connell, K&E Mann, Seimens Gamesa, Glenisk, Clonminch Pharmacy, Tullamore Goes Green, Alan Mitchell, Wind Turbine Engineering, Hire Depot, Dolans Pharmacy, Ready2Run, Print Plus, Leavy’s Centra, Tudor B&B, Renault, John Connolly Auto Service, McGowan Insurances, Paula Nolan Photography, Tyrrell’s Bakery.

The club also acknowledges the support and assistance received on race day and in the months leading up the race. Without the cooperation of many people the Tullamore Harriers Half Marathon would not be such a success. Thanks to the marshals, bikers, numerous water stations, music, pacers, massage therapists, and providers and servers of a feast of post-race food. The Order of Malta was on duty and provided a great service. Thanks also to Offaly County Council, the Gardaí, and most importantly to all the residents along the route who facilitated road closures during the race. Thanks to all who came out to support and encourage the runners along the route. Thanks also to the Tullamore Camera Club team for capturing the many photographs of the day. Finally, thanks and congratulations to all who competed on the day, we look forward to seeing you in 2020!
