Wexford Half Marathon

Four Tullamore Harriers athletes went to the sunny south east for the Wexford Half Marathon on Sunday 22nd of April. Here they competed in what was described as a fast flat course (although the climb for the first 7k could have contradicted this!)..Over 900 people competed in this and the 10k race. Our fastest athlete on the day was club captain John O’Connell(22nd overall), in a very impressive 1hr.26.29, followed by Conor Mooney(28th place), in a time of 1hr.27.18. Close on Conor’s heels was his twin Barry(30th place), finishing in 1hr.27.54. Ray Murray(220th) crossed the line in 1hr 48.12.

Pauline Curley was our only entrant in the 5th annual Belfast Titanic 10k which was held on Sunday last. Up to 2000 runners lined up for one of Northern Ireland’s most established 10k road races. This year, the added poignancy of the Titanic centenary commemoration possibly attracted even larger entry than previous years. Pauline ran a fine race and posted a seasonal best in a time of 36.07, crossing the line just 15 seconds behind 1st lady Julie Turley from Drumore A.C. 3rd place went to Claire Connor from North Belfast AC.
