Brady 10th in Irish Universities CC
The Irish Universities Cross Country Championships were held over a very tough hilly course in Waterford on Saturday last and a big field of 118 athletes completed the course. Liam Brady (Dublin Institute of Technology) started conservatively and picked off athletes throughout the race to finish very a very creditable 10th place behind the winner, John Coghlan (DCU). He completed the tough 5 mile course in 29:35 minutes, just 35 second behind the bronze medallist Michael Mulhare (UL). Brady finished 100m ahead of the recently crowned National Intermediate Cross Country champion, Jayme Rossiter.
Bundoran 10 mile Challenge
Two of our members Mike Murphy and Ronan Duffy wore the blue and white in far away Bundoran on Sat 10th March. Mike was 11th finisher in a time of 58.50 and Ronan was 49th place in a time of 1.03.50.
Bohermeen Half Marathon
Pauline Curley was a clear winner in the Bohermeen Half Marathon on 4th of March. She was 1st lady and 20th overall in a time of 1.18.58.
On Sat 3rd of March a 4mile cross country race was held on grounds of Maynooth College. Declan Fahey was 10th overall in a time of 22.21. John Todd was 63rd and 1st 0/60 in a time of 25.47.
On Sat 10th, the venue was ALSAA, and John Todd again won his age group in the 5mile race in a time of 32.49
Maire-Triona Keane, who has recently resumed racing after a long break due to injury, was 2nd lady in the 2 mile race in a time of 13.08
